Senate Democrats Sound the Alarm on Looming Healthcare Crisis

Yesterday, in Cashton, State Senators, Sarah Keyeski, Brad Pfaff, Jodi Habush Sinykin and Representative Jenna Jacobson toured the Scenic Bluffs Healthcare Clinic. The visit focused on ideas for making care more affordable and accessible and dealing with the oncoming healthcare crisis.

Senate Democrats are deeply concerned about the impact the “Big Ugly Bill” will have on an already costly Wisconsin health insurance system. It is beyond irresponsible that Republican leaders in Washington and Madison seem content with the healthcare crisis that’s looming in just eight days.

More than 270,000 Wisconsinites are set to lose their healthcare, while countless others will see their premiums doubling or even tripling. It is our duty as representatives of our constituents to demand better from those in power. We owe it to our farmers, to our small business owners, to those who get their healthcare on the exchange and to all those that will be adversely impacted by these rate hikes to do everything in our power to act.
