Senate Democrats Hear Constituents, Focus On Affordability

Across Wisconsin, one issue is taking center stage: the rising cost of living. Recent polling shows that 40% of adults identified “inflation and cost of living”as their number one issue, with many families saying they are barely getting by.

In response, Democratic State Senators have launched the Affordable Wisconsin Agenda—a statewide tour and legislative platform keying in on housing, healthcare, childcare, energy, and food prices. The tour aims to hear from Wisconsinites about where they are feeling the greatest strain, and translate that into tangible policy solutions

Democratic Leader Senator Hesselbein underscored that winning a majority in 2026 will be essential to deliver on this agenda. She contrasted Democrat’s focus on affordability with a Republican legislature, “mired in internal conflict, unwilling to cross the aisle and get stuff done for Wisconsinites”. The state deserves a legislative body that goes to work every day with the sole aim of bettering the standing of its citizens. Senate Democrats and our new slate of candidates are eager to offer exactly that.
